BRASS LAP - blind or through hole laps
Blind-hole or Through-hole brass lapping tools can be used to "lap" drilled holes to extreme close tolerances. To lap a hole, increasingly expand the lap by means of the adjusting screw (while lapping/honing) until the desired "inside diameter" is accomplished. Use diamond compound when lapping pre-hardened tool steel. For regular "untreated" steel types use "aluminum oxide" or "silicon carbide" lapping compound.
NOTE: Each lap expands up to 15% always reaching the next larger standard available diameter lap size. Laps can also be purchased as individual service parts, complete lap assemblies or in sets.
